It’s one greeting card for pretty much every occasion.
Instead of keeping seventeen different cards in a drawer and somehow still not having the one you need, the Emergency Greeting Card has a list of occasions on the front.
Simply tick the occasion, write your message inside and hand it over like this was the plan all along.
Crisis averted. 🚨
We’ve tried to cover everything from the predictable to the slightly less predictable.
You’ll find:
Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary, Wedding Day, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Thank-you, Thinking of You, New Home, New Job, Leaving, Get Well Soon, Good Luck, Graduation, Just Because and Divorce.
There’s also Other, with a line for whatever life has thrown at you that we didn’t see coming.
It’s an incredibly sophisticated three-stage process:
1. PANIC
“Shit. It’s their birthday.”
2. FIND A CARD
Remember the Emergency Greeting Card hiding in your drawer.
3. TICK, WRITE, SEND
Tick the right box, write something vaguely heartfelt inside and pretend you had this organised for weeks.
Crisis averted.
Whatever you’ve got to hand.
Biro. Felt-tip. Marker. Sharpie.
We’re particularly fond of the slightly chaotic Sharpie tick. It feels appropriate.
Absolutely nothing.
The inside is deliberately blank so you’ve got plenty of room to write your own message.
We save you from forgetting the card.
You’re still responsible for thinking of something nice to say.
The Emergency Greeting Card is approximately 7″ × 5″ when folded.
A proper greeting card. Not one of those tiny cards that makes it look like you forgot and you’re cheap.
Each Emergency Greeting Card is printed on premium 300gsm card using responsibly sourced materials.
They’re printed here in the UK.
Of course.
Every card comes with a kraft envelope.
We’re chaotic, not monsters.
Absolutely.
We’re not here to judge why you’re buying someone a divorce card.
We’re just pleased you remembered.
That’s exactly why we included:
☐ Other: ___________
Tick it. Write your own occasion on the line.
New baby? Promotion? Retirement? Passed your driving test? Sorry I reversed into your car?
You do you.
We’ve deliberately made stocking up considerably better value:
1 card — £4.50
For optimists.
5 cards — £15 (£3 each)
For realists.
10 cards — £22 (£2.20 each)
You know yourself.
We think you already know the answer to that.
Birthdays don’t stop happening.
Christmas has shown a worrying tendency to return every December.
People continue getting married, moving house, leaving jobs and occasionally divorcing each other.
Keep a stash in the drawer and become the organised person you’ve always pretended to be.
Currently, the card is supplied blank for you to complete and send yourself.
After all, half the experience is furiously scribbling something inside five minutes before you leave the house.
We aim to dispatch orders within 3 working days.
We’re a small UK business.
We’re not Amazon.
We’ll get your cards packed up and on their way as quickly as we can.
Free, unless you want first class, then it’s a bit extra!
The final delivery charge will always be shown before you complete checkout.
Not currently. We’re starting with the UK while we figure out whether trying to sell a million greeting cards was a terrible life decision.
International delivery is something we’d love to introduce in future.
Our cards are responsibly sourced and printed in the UK.
Because shipping our Emergency Greeting Cards halfway around the planet before sending them to you felt a little unnecessary.
Yes. If you’ve changed your mind, please see our Delivery & Returns Policy for full information about cancellations and returns.
Please don’t tick Happy Birthday, write “Happy Birthday Dave!” inside, give it to Dave and then try to return it afterwards.
At that point, the card has fulfilled its destiny.
That’s not supposed to happen.
Send us an email at [email protected] with your order number and details of what’s gone wrong. A photograph is helpful where something has been damaged in transit.
We’ll get it sorted.
Congratulations, you’ve discovered a different type of emergency.
Contact us at [email protected] with your order number and we’ll put it right.
Because apparently we don’t know when to leave a perfectly sensible idea alone.
We created one card for practically every occasion.
Then we thought:
“I wonder if we could sell a million of these?”
And unfortunately nobody stopped us.
So that’s what we’re doing.
Starting at zero. Stopping at 1,000,000.
Absolutely not.
If we had, we’d probably be somewhere having a lie down.
Our website has a live-ish counter showing how many cards we’ve sold so far.
Every card gets us one closer.
YES.
This is very important.
One card = +1
Five cards = +5
Ten cards = +10
Which means buying ten makes you objectively ten times more helpful to our ridiculous mission than buying one.*
*This is mathematics, not emotional manipulation.
That’s an excellent question.
We probably should have thought that far ahead.
First, there will be celebrations.
Then we’ll work out what happens next.
Right now we’ve got quite a few cards to sell first.
We’re documenting the journey from 0 → 1,000,000 across social media.
The orders. The milestones. The stupid marketing ideas. The things that work. The things that spectacularly don’t.
You can follow @emergencygreetingcard on our social channels.
Maybe we’ll sell a million.
Maybe we’ll spectacularly fail.
Either way, it should be entertaining.
