Terms and Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply when you use this website or place an order with Emergency Greeting Card.

We’ve tried to keep them readable because nobody came here hoping to spend their evening reading Terms & Conditions.

1. Who we are

The Emergency Greeting Card website and brand is operated by:

Oh You Know Limited trading as Emergency Greeting Card

Registered in England and Wales.

Company number: 12625943
Registered office: 10 Red Kite Close, RG31 7BT
Email: [email protected]

Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Oh You Know Limited trading as Emergency Greeting Card.

“You” and “your” mean the person using our website or purchasing our products.

2. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of our website and purchases made through it.

By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

3. Our products

We do our best to describe and photograph our products accurately.

However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen, and minor variations may occur between print runs or batches.

Product dimensions are approximate unless stated otherwise.

Our Emergency Greeting Cards are currently approximately 7″ × 5″, printed on 300gsm card and supplied with a kraft envelope, as described on the relevant product page.

We may occasionally make minor changes to materials, packaging or production methods provided these do not materially alter the product you’ve ordered.

4. Prices

All prices displayed on the website are in Pounds Sterling (GBP).

Prices shown at checkout will make clear any applicable delivery charges and taxes before you place your order.

We may change our prices from time to time. Any price change will not affect an order that we have already accepted.

If we discover an obvious pricing error after you place an order, we’ll contact you before fulfilling it.

5. Placing an order

When you place an order, you’ll receive an email acknowledging that we’ve received it.

Your order is accepted when we send confirmation that your order has been accepted or dispatched.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including where:

  • a product is unavailable;
  • payment has not been authorised;
  • there has been an obvious pricing or website error;
  • we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse; or
  • we are unable to deliver to the address supplied.

If we’ve taken payment for an order that we subsequently cannot fulfil, we’ll refund the relevant amount.

6. Payment

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available during checkout.

Your payment information is processed by our payment provider(s). We do not ordinarily receive or store your complete payment card details ourselves.

You are responsible for ensuring that the payment and billing information you provide is accurate.

7. Delivery

We aim to dispatch orders within the timeframe shown on our website. Our current target is generally within 3 working days, unless otherwise stated.

We’re a small UK business. We’re not Amazon.

Delivery estimates are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates unless we expressly tell you otherwise.

Under UK consumer law, goods must generally be delivered within 30 days unless another delivery period has been agreed.

If circumstances outside our reasonable control cause a delay, we’ll take reasonable steps to minimise the impact and, where appropriate, let you know.

Please make sure your delivery address is correct before submitting your order. If you notice an error, contact us as quickly as possible.

8. UK delivery

Available UK delivery methods, prices and estimated delivery times will be shown during checkout.

Where we offer free delivery subject to an order-value threshold, the applicable threshold will be displayed on the website.

9. International delivery

Where international delivery is available, available destinations and delivery charges will be shown at checkout.

International customers may be responsible for local customs duties, import taxes or other charges imposed by the destination country unless we explicitly state that these are included.

International delivery times may vary considerably.

10. Changing your mind

If you’re a UK consumer purchasing online, you normally have a legal right to change your mind.

You can notify us that you wish to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without needing to give us a reason. You then normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.

To cancel, contact us at:

[email protected]

Please include your name and order number.

11. Returns after changing your mind

Unless the product is faulty, incorrect or otherwise not as required by law, you are responsible for the cost of returning unwanted goods to us.

To request a return, please email: [email protected]

You should take reasonable care of products while they are in your possession.

You may inspect goods in much the same way as you would in a shop, but we may make an appropriate deduction from a refund where handling has reduced the value of the goods beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

For obvious reasons, please don’t tick the Birthday box, write “Happy Birthday Dave” inside and then try to return it because Dave’s birthday has passed.

That card has fulfilled its destiny.

More formally, your cancellation rights may be affected where goods have been altered, personalised or handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect them, in accordance with applicable consumer law.

12. Refunds

Where you validly exercise your right to cancel, we’ll refund the amount you’re entitled to under applicable consumer law.

This will ordinarily include the price paid for the returned goods and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option where the whole order is cancelled.

If you selected a more expensive delivery method, we do not have to refund the additional delivery cost above our standard option.

Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method.

We will process applicable refunds within the legally required timeframe, normally no later than 14 days after receiving the returned goods or appropriate evidence that you’ve returned them.

13. Faulty, damaged or incorrect products

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, materially different from its description, or we’ve sent you the wrong product, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at:

[email protected]

Please include your order number and, where helpful, photographs showing the problem.

We’ll work with you to put things right.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. These rights cannot simply be excluded by our Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in these terms limits those statutory rights.

14. The 1,000,000-card mission

We are attempting to sell:

1,000,000 Emergency Greeting Cards.

Yes, really.

Any counters, progress indicators or statistics displayed on our website are intended to show our progress towards that goal.

We will make reasonable efforts to keep the figure accurate, but the displayed counter may not always update immediately following an order, cancellation, refund or other adjustment.

The 1,000,000-card target is a promotional goal and does not constitute a guarantee that we will actually achieve it.

Although we’re going to give it a bloody good go.

15. Promotions and discount codes

From time to time we may offer discount codes, promotions, competitions or special offers.

Unless stated otherwise:

  • promotions cannot be exchanged for cash;
  • discount codes cannot normally be combined;
  • promotions apply only during the advertised period; and
  • we may refuse a promotion where we reasonably believe it has been obtained or used fraudulently or contrary to its published conditions.

Any specific promotional terms will be provided alongside the relevant promotion.

16. Intellectual property

The Emergency Greeting Card name, branding, logo, card designs, illustrations, website content, photographs, graphics and other original material are owned by or licensed to Oh You Know Limited unless otherwise stated.

You may not reproduce, sell, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative commercial products from our intellectual property without our written permission.

Sharing our products or website on social media is, of course, absolutely fine.

In fact, please do.

We have a million cards to sell.

17. Website availability

We’ll do our best to keep the website available and working correctly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may temporarily suspend or restrict parts of the website for maintenance, security, technical problems or improvements.

18. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services, including social-media platforms and payment providers.

We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of websites operated by other organisations.

19. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable consequence of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

If you’re purchasing products wholly or mainly for business purposes, different legal rights may apply.

Consumer contract terms must be fair and cannot exclude certain legal responsibilities, including responsibility for faulty goods or goods that are not as described.

20. Privacy

We take the handling of personal information seriously.

Information about how we collect, use and protect personal information can be found in our Privacy Policy.

21. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please contact us first and give us an opportunity to sort it out.

Email:

[email protected]

Please include your order number where applicable.

We’ll aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions occasionally.

The terms applying to your purchase will generally be those in force when your order was placed.

The latest version will always be published on this website with the date it was last updated.

23. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you’re a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also benefit from mandatory protections and rights available under the law applicable where you live.

Nothing in these terms prevents you from exercising any right to bring proceedings in a court available to you under applicable consumer law.
